Vietnamese Veterans Share Experience in Ensuring Traffic Safety

On the morning of May 5, in Cua Lo Town, the Vietnam Veterans Association coordinated with the Traffic Safety Committee to organize a training conference and workshop on "Vietnam Veterans participate in maintaining traffic order and safety".

Attending the conference and directing the training were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duoc - Hero of the Armed Forces, National Assembly Delegate, Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association;Comrade Nguyen Song Phi, Vice President of Vietnam Veterans Association;Comrade Khuat Viet Hung - Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee and many war veterans from 31 northern provinces and cities. In 2013, the Central Standing Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the National Traffic Safety Committee signed coordination program No. 01 on continuing to implement the Campaign "Vietnam Veterans participate in maintaining traffic order and safety".
Over the past 4 years, the Association of War Veterans has closely coordinated with the National Traffic Safety Committee and central authorities. The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association has directed all levels of the association and all members to actively and proactively propose many programs, contents and solutions to mobilize war veterans and people nationwide to participate in ensuring traffic safety and order.
Vietnam War Veterans Association is a large force with a glorious tradition and high prestige in the community, so in the process of implementing the campaign, the association at all levels always receives the participation and response of all classes of people. Hundreds of models have been built with great influence and high efficiency. The participation of war veterans in ensuring traffic safety is a beautiful image in everyday life, with great influence in the community. Thanks to that, it contributes to the whole country's successful implementation of the goal of reducing traffic accidents on all 3 criteria.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Tran - Vice President of Nghe An War Veterans Association said that Nghe An War Veterans Association has over 172 thousand members, operating in 673 grassroots organizations. In recent years, the Provincial Association has determined that maintaining traffic safety and order is the responsibility of each organization and each cadre and member. From there, the Provincial Association requires 100% of cadres and members of War Veterans Association participating in traffic to strictly comply with traffic laws. In particular, with the model of each war veteran mobilizing 4-5 people to participate in traffic law compliance, it has contributed to ensuring traffic safety in the area.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Khuat Viet Hung highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of war veterans at all levels in ensuring traffic safety and order and affirmed that each war veteran has truly been the core in the propaganda work to ensure traffic safety and order.

At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee also requested the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association to direct all levels of the Association to continue promoting the implementation of the Campaign "Vietnam Veterans participate in maintaining traffic order and safety"; direct all levels of the Association to carry out the task of ensuring traffic safety in 2017 with the theme "Building traffic culture among youth" with the spirit "Human life is above all"...
Focusing on mobilizing members to practice a civilized traffic lifestyle, voluntarily comply with and mobilize their families and relatives to comply with the Road Traffic Law; building and replicating advanced models and examples in the movement of war veterans participating in ensuring traffic safety, mobilizing war veterans and their families to actively participate in building and protecting rural roads, contributing to building new rural areas.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association awarded 28 collectives and 20 individuals with outstanding achievements in ensuring traffic safety in recent times.
