Former Interpol President Detained in China on Suspicion of Corruption
Former Interpol President and Chinese Deputy Minister of Public Security Meng Hongwei is suspected of accepting bribes and committing other crimes.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China on Monday, the agency is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
"Mr. Zhao Kezhi, member of the State Council of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security of China, announced on the morning of October 8 that Mr. Meng Hongwei is suspected of accepting bribes and committing other crimes. Currently, the State Supervisory Commission is investigating the case related to him," the document said.
