Former Pentagon adviser reveals where the conflict in Ukraine will end
(Baonghean.vn) - Former advisor to the head of the Pentagon revealed that the Russian army can approach Kiev if necessary to end the conflict.

In an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom, Colonel Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the Pentagon chief, said that the Russian military has such resources and power that the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot stop them. The conflict in Ukraine may not end until the Russian military takes full control of the city of Odessa and marches on the capital Kiev.
According to Colonel Douglas McGregor, Russian President Vladimir Putin is looking to de-escalate the crisis to avoid direct military conflict with the US and NATO.
“President Putin wants to end the conflict in a way that restores the relationship. The Russian leader is working hard to avoid destructive actions that would make that impossible. On the contrary, the West is doing everything it can to ensure that the United States and Europe never have a normal relationship with Moscow again,” Colonel McGregor said.
Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reiterated the message that Moscow is ready to negotiate on the situation in Ukraine, but will not consider ceasefire proposals.
This is explained by the fact that Russia had previously agreed to sit at the negotiating table, and even reached an agreement with Ukraine, but in the end, “we were deceived” – Foreign Minister Lavrov concluded.
On the Western side, the US and its allies have provided tens of billions of dollars in military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine to push back Russian troops, while trying to avoid direct actions that could widen the conflict.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the US and its allies will continue to support Ukraine despite growing opposition. He said not supporting Ukraine would cost the alliance in the long run because "we would become vulnerable to Russia".
"Therefore, supporting Ukraine is in our security interests and I believe the United States will continue to do so," said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
