Former player Tai Em previously worked as an assistant coach at his hometown team Long An. He has an AFC A license since he was a player. Tai Em joined Saigon FC with a long-term contract. He and Minh Phuong are outstanding midfielders of Vietnamese football over the past decade.
The Saigon team is in the final stages of signing a new coach. According to some sources, the strategist is originally from Saigon. In the next few days, the team will introduce the new head coach to the team and fans.
Saigon FC - the team ranked 5th in V-League 2017 - suddenly had many changes after two years of "going South". Chairman Giang Dong asked to withdraw, replaced by Mr. Tran Tien Dai. The change took place at the time when the teams' preparations for the new season were at their busiest. After Mr. Giang Dong left, Coach Duc Thang and his assistants' contracts also expired on January 31 and the parties could not reach an agreement on a new contract.
Mr. Tien Dai unexpectedly returned to football after retiring in 2013. He set a goal for himself and his team and players to attract audiences to the stadium with dedicated playing style and focus on youth training, in addition to the football business that supports football.
