In the book Skripal File, author Mark Urban, a journalist from the British BBC radio channel, told about Sergei Skripal's activities in the UK and revealed that this former spy did not believe that he was poisoned by the Russian government.

"Currently, Skripal and his daughter are under strict police control. They cannot move freely or go to work. Returning home for Skripal and his daughter is impossible, because the house in Salisbury (UK) has been sealed. It cannot continue forever that the former spy and his daughter will be taken to another safe haven, protected by the police for several months, even a year, once again raising the question of where Skripal and his daughter will be" - journalist Urban analyzed.

The author emphasizes that Skripal disagreed with the idea of moving to another country, especially to the United States.

"While Skripal was in hospital, there were proposals to move the Skripals to the United States or another English-speaking country, and to live under a completely new name. But the former Russian spy did not like this idea," Urban wrote in the Skripal File.

Commenting on the publication of the Skripal File, the Russian Embassy in the UK said that "the book is Skripal's testimony about what happened in Salisbury".

On September 5, British prosecutors had sufficient evidence to charge two Russian citizens Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov with plotting to murder former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury last March.

On the Russian side, the Foreign Ministry affirmed that the UK's announcement of the suspect's identity had no meaning for Moscow, and urged London to cooperate in investigating the incident, as a thorough analysis was needed. Meanwhile, the Russian delegation to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) stressed that the country had no involvement in the poisoning of former spy Skripal.
