Former SLNA defender Au Van Hoan shares about his decision to retire from football
(Baonghean.vn) - At the end of this season, the contract between Au Van Hoan and SHB Da Nang officially expired. Realizing that his physical strength was no longer guaranteed, the defender born in 1989 decided to retire from his football career.
Sharing with Nghe An Newspaper, Au Van Hoan affirmed: "I have decided to leave the professional football field after ending my contract with SHB Da Nang. Currently, I will spend time resting and taking care of my family. I have not thought about what career I will pursue in the future. For me, family is the most important."
Au Van Hoan is a product of the training furnace.SLNA,same generation as Hoang Van Binh, Nguyen Trong Hoang, Nguyen Hong Viet, Truong Dac Khanh, Nguyen Dinh Hiep, Nguyen Ngoc Anh... This generation won the championship at the 2006 National U17 Finals and the runner-up position at the 2007 National U21 Finals.

In the V.League arena,Au Van HoanHe played for SLNA (2011 - 2013), B.Binh Duong (2014 - 2016), Ho Chi Minh City Club (2017 - 2018) and most recently SHB Da Nang (2019 - 2020). After a decade of fighting, Hoan "cut" has won 3 V.League championship titles (V.League 2011 with SLNA, V.League 2014 and V.League 2015 with B.Binh Duong).
At the National Team level, Au Van Hoan also had the honor of wearing the U23 Vietnam and Vietnam National Team jerseys to participate in the SEA Games 2011, AFF Cup 2012 and AFF Cup 2016. Unfortunately, in all three of those tournaments, U23 Vietnam and Vietnam National Team failed to win the championship.

This season, at Hoa Xuan Stadium, Au Van Hoan's familiar position is on the bench. According to statistics, atV.League 2020, the player from Hung Nguyen only played in 3 matches (1 match as a starter), with a duration of 58 minutes. This is completely normal, because Au Van Hoan cannot compete for the position with his fellow countryman Tran Dinh Hoang.
Realizing that his physical strength and performance were no longer guaranteed, Au Van Hoan decided to retire from his football career, ending his glorious playing days. Thus, it is likely that next season, in the same generation as Au Van Hoan at the SLNA academy in the past, only Nguyen Trong Hoang will be able to dominate the professional football field.
