Rescue 7 sailors and fishing boat in distress in Hoang Sa waters
The Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region II (Danang MRCC) said that at 5:20 p.m. on November 7, SAR 412 ship of Danang MRCC brought 7 crew members and ship BD 96652 TS in distress in Hoang Sa waters to Binh Dinh safely.
Previously, at 11:57 on November 4, Danang MRCC received information: Ship BD 96652 TS, captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh, residing in Hoai Hai, Hoai Nhon, Binh Dinh, had an engine failure at 5:00 on November 3 while operating at position 15030'N - 112020'E (area near Hoang Sa archipelago). The ship tried to repair it but could not fix the problem, there were 7 people on board, food, provisions, and fresh water were very little.

After receiving the information, Danang MRCC coordinated with relevant agencies to take appropriate support measures for the ship in distress.
At 9:49 a.m. on November 6, ship BD 96652 TS still could not fix the engine problem, no ship came to assist, food and fresh water were exhausted, the crew was panicked and tired, the weather in the area was stormy and had very dangerous whirlwinds, the ship requested urgent help.
At 11:00 a.m. on November 6, SAR 412 left Da Nang for rescue. At 11:30 p.m. on the same day, SAR 412 approached BD 96652 TS at position 15017'N - 111035'E (about 220 nautical miles East Northeast of Binh Dinh), transferred the crew of the distressed ship to SAR 412 for health care, ensuring safety and changing direction to bring BD 96652 TS and crew back to shore.
