Former V.League star becomes a "broker"
Even before the 2015 season ended, clubs were constantly approached by agents trying to "reserve" their players for trials before the 2016 season. Among the very few agents welcomed by the clubs were a few former V-League stars.
Many foreign players in the V-League, after ending their careers, have switched to working as transfer agents and leveraged their existing connections to "do business" in the Vietnamese market. Achilefu (Nigeria) and Leandro (Brazil) are prime examples.

Thanks to their reputations from their time playing in the V-League, these former stars are always welcomed and treated with much more respect by clubs compared to other agents. Achilefu specializes in bringing players from Nigeria to Vietnam, while Leandro is considered a "Belgian player mine." Leandro therefore played a relatively large role in the phenomenon of numerous Brazilian players coming to try out at clubs before the 2016 season, leading many to believe in the prospect of the "Samba team" reclaiming the V-League market.
Not only former players but also foreign players currently playing for V-League clubs are taking advantage of their "family" status to recommend colleagues they know. With so many sources of information, it is hoped that V-League clubs can select the best foreign players for the new season.
