Former airport employee swindled and appropriated 12 billion VND
Pham Hong Hai (49 years old) boasted of having connections with high-ranking leaders and being able to "fix the case" in order to defraud and appropriate 12 billion VND from the victim.
On September 13, Colonel Pham Van Toan, Deputy Head of the Criminal Police Department of Thua Thien Hue Province Police, announced that he had decided to prosecute and temporarily detain Pham Hong Hai (49 years old, residing at 81 Song Hong Street, Huong Thuy Town) for fraud and property appropriation. Pham Hong Hai used to be an employee of Phu Bai Airport and quit his job a month ago.

Previously, Thua Thien Hue Police successfully broke up a case of buying and selling invoices of Tuyet Liem Private Enterprise and Tuan Phat Transport Trading and Service Company Limited located at 217 Phan Boi Chau (Hue City). The case was prosecuted, Nguyen Thanh Liem (Deputy Director of Tuyet Liem Company) and 8 others were prosecuted.
Taking advantage of this and his previous acquaintance with Nguyen Thanh Liem, Pham Hong Hai often "bragged" that he had connections with high-ranking leaders of the province and law enforcement agencies, so he could "run the case" for Mr. Liem to escape punishment. Trusting him, Tuyet Liem and her husband gave Hai more than 12 billion VND. Of which, before being arrested, Liem gave Hai 3.5 billion VND, after Liem was arrested, Liem's wife Tuyet continued to give Hai 5.6 billion VND and 130,000 USD. After appropriating the above amount, Hai deposited it in the bank.
Thua Thien Hue police have seized more than 11 billion VND and are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
