Ukraine's former foreign minister says the country is in a dangerous phase before the end of the presidential campaign, as the incumbent Ukrainian president chooses tactics of worsening relations with Russia to mobilize voters to vote for him in the upcoming election.

Speaking on NewsOne TV channel, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Konstantin Gryshchenko said: "We are in a period of threat before the end of the presidential campaign. Because the current Ukrainian President has chosen the tactic of worsening relations with Russia, thereby mobilizing voters to vote for him," said former minister Konstantin Gryshchenko.

According to Mr. Konstantin Gryshchenko, such actions of President Poroshenko are completely contrary to the needs of society.Ukraine aims to find a peaceful solution.

“Therefore, there are many unforeseen scenarios that could lead to a more serious escalation of tensions and the use of large-scale military operations,” Grishchenko concluded.

The 2019 Ukrainian presidential election campaign officially began on December 31.The election is scheduled for March 31, 2019. The election results will be announced before April 10.
