Saved a student who committed suicide by eating poison ivy
(Baonghean.vn) - A student committed suicide by eating poison ivy due to family conflicts. He was promptly saved by the military medical staff of Tri Le Border Guard Station (Nghe An Provincial Border Guard) in coordination with local medical staff.
On the afternoon of November 7, Th. Y. R (11 years old), an elementary school student residing in Pa Khom village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, committed suicide by eating poison ivy.
According to relatives, R. went to boarding school, came home today and had a conflict with his parents, so after eating at home, he ate some poison ivy leaves, then took a handful of poison ivy leaves and put them in his bag to bring to school to eat. After eating, his roommate discovered him and called the teacher to take him to the commune health station in a state of stomachache, dizziness, vertigo, and fear.
Immediately, doctors and nurses from Tri Le Border Guard Station and the Commune Health Station urgently took life-saving measures. After nearly 2 hours of intensive first aid, R. was out of danger and is now gradually recovering.
