Rescued 7 sailors in distress at sea

(Baonghean.vn) - 7 crew members and fishing boat NA 95171 TS in distress at sea were towed safely to shore by the Nghe An Border Guard Command and relevant agencies, and handed over to Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station and local authorities of Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district on the morning of March 18.

At 5:00 a.m. on March 17, the Nghe An Border Guard Command received a notice and sent a distress signal via ICOM from the fishing boat NA95171 TS and 7 crew members, captained by Mr. Tran Van Hai, residing in Hamlet 5, Son Hai Commune, Quynh Luu District, that the engine was broken and drifting at sea beyond repair, and needed urgent assistance in the East Sea.

After receiving the notice, the Nghe An Border Guard Command directed the Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station to coordinate with local authorities to notify ships operating at sea of ​​the location of the distressed ship for support, and at the same time mobilized ship BP 06.13.01 of Squadron 2 - Provincial Border Guard to embark on the rescue mission.

At 7:30 a.m. on March 17, rescue ship BP 06.13.01 of Squadron 2 - Nghe An Border Guard approached the distressed ship and conducted rescue, provided health care for the crew members, and towed the distressed ship to shore at Lach Quen fishing port, Quynh Luu district safely.

At around 11:00 a.m. on March 18, at Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station, Nghe An Border Guard coordinated with local authorities of Son Hai commune to hand over the fishermen and the distressed vessel to the local authorities of Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district.
