Rescued 8 sailors in distress at sea
(Baonghean.vn) - After receiving a distress signal from fishing boat NA 90314 TS, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 organized a search and rescue operation and saved 8 crew members.
On the morning of March 28, Border Guard Station 148, Quynh Thuan, Quynh Luu district, coordinated with Squadron 101 - Coast Guard Region 1 Command to hand over a fishing boat to fisherman Hoang Dinh Thanh in Son Hai Commune, Quynh Luu district.
According to information from Border Guard Station 148 Quynh Thuan, when fishing boat NA 90314 TS of fisherman Hoang Dinh Thanh in Son Hai commune was fishing at coordinates 19 0 41'N - 107 0 40'E in the Southeast area of Bach Long Vi island, Hai Phong city, the engine suddenly broke down. In that situation, the fishing boat sent out a distress signal.

After receiving the distress signal from the fishermen, the Command of the Coast Guard Region 1 sent the CSB 9004 ship to search and rescue. At 00:30 on March 27, 2017, the CSB 9004 Hai Phong ship approached the fishing boat NA 90314 TS.
After approaching the distressed ship, CSB 9004 Hai Phong sent officers and soldiers to check the damage to the fishing boat, inquire about the health status and provide medicine to encourage the crew members on board.

After the incident, the gearbox on the fisherman's boat could not be repaired. Therefore, CSB 9004 Hai Phong ship brought 8 crew members onto the CSB ship and towed fishing boat 90314 of fisherman Hoang Dinh Thanh to Lach Quen, Tien Thuy commune.
At 8:30 a.m. on March 28, 2017, the CSB ship handed over the fishing boat and 8 fishermen to Border Guard Station 148 Quynh Thuan.
Also in the morning of the same day, Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station signed a record of handing over the boat to the fishermen, encouraged and gave gifts to help the fishermen overcome the problem so that they could continue to go out to sea to develop the economy, and at the same time, contribute to protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
