At 3:30 p.m. on April 27, the Emergency Department and Obstetrics Department of Nghe An General Hospital received a pregnant woman named Bui Thi Hong (40 years old, Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town) who was in shock, collapsed, and lost blood after giving birth. The pregnant woman was transferred from the grassroots medical facility in a very poor health condition, with a high risk of death: pale skin, pale mucous membranes, anuria, rapid and weak pulse, low blood pressure, and a distended abdomen...

It is known that at 7am the same day, the mother gave birth to her fifth child, a baby boy weighing 3.5kg, at the lower level hospital. After giving birth, the mother suffered from uterine atony and hemorrhage. Although the doctors at the district hospital performed an emergency low-level hysterectomy to stop the bleeding, the mother still showed signs of continued blood loss and gradually fell into a state of shock.
Urgent consultation, the obstetricians decided to perform an emergency surgery to stop the bleeding and save the patient's life. As diagnosed, the mother had very complicated bleeding. In the mother's abdomen, there were about 2 liters of fresh blood mixed with blood clots. The uterine incision was bleeding, accompanied by the right uterine artery continuously spurting blood.
