It's surprising that Nguyen Thanh Binh has only been given the starting goalkeeper position in one match out of six rounds this season by SHB Da Nang. Specifically, in the away game against B. Binh Duong in round 3, coach Le Huynh Duc chose Thanh Binh to start in place of Le Van Hung.
Six rounds, only one chance.
In that match, SHB.Da Nang mentally prepared themselves for a difficult win at Go Dau Stadium, and Thanh Binh had to pick the ball out of the net three times, which was also SHB.Da Nang's heaviest defeat (2-3) among the four losses they have suffered this season.
Meanwhile, Le Van Hung was chosen to start in the remaining 5 matches, against Thanh Hoa (1-2 loss), SLNA (1-2 loss), Hanoi T&T (1-1 draw), HAGL (0-1 loss), and Hai Phong (2-0 win). In terms of average goalkeeping performance per minute, Thanh Binh clearly lags far behind Le Van Hung. This statistic shows that Le Van Hung is currently the number one goalkeeper at SHB Da Nang.
Goalkeeper Le Van Hung joined SHB Da Nang at the beginning of the 2014 season on a three-year contract from Kien Giang. With only one call-up to the Vietnam U23 team preparing for the 25th SEA Games, Le Van Hung's starting point was certainly far behind that of his colleague Nguyen Thanh Binh, who was once the main goalkeeper for the Vietnamese national team. However, Le Van Hung earned the trust of coach Le Huynh Duc, who brought him to Chi Lang Stadium to become his favorite player.
Returning to the story of Thanh Bình being benched in favor of Văn Hưng for the past 6 rounds, perhaps the issue isn't that Bình conceded 3 goals while Hưng hasn't exceeded 2 goals in a single match. The issue here is that Lê Văn Hưng's form is more consistent than Thanh Bình's.
It's his fault, and it's her fault too.
On numerous occasions, coach Le Huynh Duc has "lamented" that he doesn't understand why SHB Da Nang players returning from the national team have all experienced a noticeable decline in form, including goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Binh. And reality has proven that to be true.
Public attention is focused on Thanh Bình because this goalkeeper was trained by SHB Da Nang, his talent has been proven, but he is gradually losing his starting position to Van Hung. Could this put considerable pressure on Bình and eventually cause him to become stressed and his skills to wither, like Duc Cuong did years ago?
I say this because Binh's mental state is very fragile. Once, after being scolded by Huynh Duc about his departure, he couldn't eat or sleep for several days and became completely emaciated.
In response to this question, assistant coach Dao Quang Hung affirmed: “Binh and Hung each possess their own strengths. Currently, Binh's form is not good, and the coaching staff has encouraged him and wants to give him time to reach his best condition. Certainly, Binh will be used more frequently in the future. We are not worried about Binh losing his form.”
Regardless, fans of the Han River team can't help but worry about goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Binh as he's losing his starting spot to Van Hung. While Huynh Duc and the coaching staff prioritize form above all else to place their trust in him, Thanh Binh needs to figure out what to do to regain his position as the number one goalkeeper for SHB Da Nang.
If the decision was based solely on trusting Van Hung for reasons other than professional expertise, then it's a pity for Thanh Binh. In a goalkeeper's career, the goal is always a daunting challenge; one can only patiently wait for their opportunity.

Meanwhile, Hung had gained more experience with the team recently, so he was more stable. Therefore, I decided to choose Hung as the starting goalkeeper for the very high-pressure match against Hai Phong at Chi Lang Stadium, even though he had made a mistake in the loss against HA.GL.
