Putin said: “Boris, you said that Ukraine is not going to join NATO in the near future. What time frame are you talking about?” And I said: “Well, they have no plans to join NATO in the near future. You know that very well,” Johnson said.
According to the British politician, in a conversation with Putin he affirmed that conducting a special military operation in Ukraine would be "a complete disaster". Johnson also assured that London would support the Kiev government.
According to Johnson, Ukraine's accession to NATO is unlikely due to the stance of Germany and France on the issue.
Mr Johnson has previously called the "Normandy format" talks on Ukraine a diplomatic simulation.
