The representative of the People's Procuracy proposed that the People's Court sentence Mr. Nguyen Duy Linh to 13-15 years in prison for the crime of "Receiving bribes", applying many mitigating circumstances.

The People's Procuracy proposed that the People's Court sentence Phan Van Anh Vu (Vu "Nhom") to 7-9 years in prison for the crime of ""Bribery",punish the defendantHo Huu Hoa was sentenced to time in detention for the crime of "Brokerbribery".

According to the representative of the People's Procuracy, the defendants' criminal acts were especially serious, hindering the process of arresting Phan Van Anh Vu and causing outrage in society.

This morning, the Hanoi People's Court conducted separate interrogations of each defendant. Defendant Hoa was the only one who maintained his testimony, admitting to the actions as charged.

Accordingly, Hoa introduced Vu to Mr. Linh, who also suggested that Vu give a bribe of 5 billion VND. Hoa helped Vu transfer this amount of money to the former Deputy General Director, through 2 of his subordinates.

Initially, Mr. Linh and Mr. Vu repeatedly denied giving and receiving money, both stating that the 5 gifts were only "wine, cigars, and lingzhi mushrooms". At the beginning of the working session this afternoon, Mr. Linhbunexpectedly confessed,asked to remedy the consequences and asked for leniency due to poor health. Immediately after that, Vu also admitted his guilt, refusing to explain the reason.

The court announced Phan Van Anh Vu's testimony in April 2018 about Mr. Linh.

According to the indictment,defendant danceis Mr. Linh's subordinate at the General Department of Intelligence, Ministry of Public Security. In 2017, Vu knew that he was being investigated in the case of "Intentionally revealing state secrets", so he asked feng shui master Ho Huu Hoa to introduce him to Mr. Linh to ask for help.

Mr. Linh then agreed to talk and told Vu to "rest assured". In August 2017, Vu gave 5 billion VND to Hoa to transfer. On December 17, 2017, Mr. Linh told Vu that the situation was "very tense", that he could be prosecuted, arrested and advised him to take a short vacation, telling him to "try to go to a European country".

In January 2018, when he was arrested and brought back to Vietnam, Vu proactively wrote 6 statements, admitting to bribing Mr. Linh many times. In August, Vu changed his testimony, denying giving money, saying that he "only transferred wine, cigars and lingzhi mushrooms".

9am tomorrow (November 6), the court will announce the verdict.
