Former South Korean President denies all charges at first trial
(Baonghean.vn)- On May 23, Yonhap news agency reported that former South Korean President Park Geun-hye denied all charges against her at the first trial of the scandal, which led to her removal from office at the end of March.
At the trial, a prosecutor's official said they would do their best to prove the charges to clarify the truth regarding the case. Meanwhile, Park's lawyer Yoo Yeong-ha said the charges filed by the prosecution were based on interference and imagination, not clear evidence.

For her part, Ms. Park declared: “My stance is the same as my legal representatives.”
The second trial is scheduled for May 25. The Seoul Central District Court, which is handling the case, is expected to hold two to three hearings a week to review evidence and question witnesses. The court is expected to issue a verdict within the six-month detention period for Ms. Park, which began on April 17./.
