Former President Obama to meet President Xi Jinping

CNN quoted Obama's spokesman as saying he will visit China, India and France.

He is in Shanghai, China, today to speak at a business conference. He will also speak at an education conference in Beijing, before meeting President Xi Jinping again. The two last met in September 2016, at the G20 summit in Hangzhou.

"As president, Mr. Obama built a close working relationship with President Xi on issues ranging from global economic development to climate change, and he looks forward to continuing that relationship with his former counterpart," said Obama spokeswoman Katie Hill.

After China, the former US president will travel to New Delhi, where he will meet 280 young leaders from across India, organised by the Obama Foundation. He will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In his final stop in Paris, Mr. Obama will speak at a media event and hold other meetings.
