Former Ukrainian President Uses Russia as a 'Bogeyman' to Strengthen His Position and Plan for the Future
Many commentators believe that actively attacking Russia and using the image of a "Russian bogeyman" can help Poroshenko maintain his position.
Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is taking every opportunity to denounce Russia as an "aggressor", claiming that Western countries' attempts to appease Moscow only "whet its appetite".

"Attempts to appease the aggressor only serve to whet his appetite. Ukraine should once again remind the leaders of the world's countries that will gather in Poland in a week to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. Putin will not be there, and especially thank Warsaw for this," Poroshenko said.
In addition, former President Poroshenko said that the plan to bring Russia back to the G8 group is an unacceptable idea. Moscow has not implemented any requests from the West, the reason for excluding Russia from the G8 remains in effect.
According to Poroshenko, the Crimean peninsula has not been returned. The Donbass conflict is still ongoing, Moscow is holding Ukrainian hostages, has not implemented the clear request of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and has not released prisoners of war and political prisoners, so Russia will not be eligible to return to the G8.
The former President of Ukraine is now the leader of the "European Solidarity" Party and he recently affirmed to the European media that Ukraine has no criminal investigation against him.
The creation of the European Solidarity Party is aimed at realizing the intention of becoming a representative of Ukraine in Europe, continuing the political path of Mr. Poroshenko.
