Former U23 Vietnam player retires from football to become restaurant owner
(Baonghean.vn) - After leaving Song Lam Nghe An, Nguyen Ba Duc suddenly announced his retirement from football at the age of 25.
"I feel that I am not very good at football so I had to decide to retire from my football career to try my hand at another field. Currently, I am pursuing business and have opened a restaurant in Vinh city," Nguyen Ba Duc shared.
Nguyen Ba Duc is a product of the Song Lam Nghe An training center, in the same class of 1998 as Nguyen Van Duc and Tran Dinh Tien. Before the 2019 season, the player from Nghi Loc was promoted to play in the first team. However, Nguyen Ba Duc's familiar position is on the bench.
Although he was just a "redundant" at Vinh Stadium, Nguyen Ba Duc still "caught the eye" of coach Park Hang-seo. At the end of the 2019 season, Nguyen Ba Duc was called up by Mr. Park to the U23 Vietnam team to prepare for the 30th SEA Games.

Sadness after sadness, Nguyen Ba Duc was also left out of the personnel plan by coach Ngo Quang Truong. Reluctantly, in the 2020 season, Nguyen Ba Duc played for Hai Phong on loan. In the port city, Nguyen Ba Duc was also rarely used.
