Save the orange and tea plantations.

(Baongehan) - The villagers want to save their orange and tea gardens because some orange trees have almost completely died, and the tea plants are wilting. Everyone knows that the wilting and dying of the oranges and tea plants is all due to the weather. For months now, the weather has been causing a drought. But at a deeper level, everything is caused by "climate change," partly due to the slash-and-burn farming and deforestation that people have been doing for a long time. Officials are also having a headache. Fighting floods is difficult, but fighting drought is even more challenging.

Yes, the villagers know that drought is caused by both nature and human actions, but this isn't the time to argue with each other, but rather to think together about how to save their orange orchards and tea plantations. During a village meeting, we heard that soon the orange growers in the village will have a low-voltage power station to provide lighting and water for irrigating their orchards and tea plantations. The villagers were very happy to hear that.

The villagers also heard that the officials would invest in drilling five more wells for them to grow oranges. Hearing this, the villagers were even happier.

But we've been waiting for almost half a year, and we still haven't seen the low-voltage power station. It's easy to spend money drilling wells, but spending so much money building a low-voltage station is the difficult part. Only with a power station can we pump water for irrigation, for the oranges and tea plants. Then the people will finally spend money drilling wells.

The villagers also spent money to connect electricity from outside the main village to their orange orchards, but the power supply is too weak to pump water. Having a power station would give the oranges and tea a chance to survive. The villagers hope the power station will come to the village soon, to save the oranges and tea, and to alleviate the suffering of the people.
