One suspect has been arrested in the shooting that killed three forest rangers.

The arrested suspect is Hoang Van Thang, residing in Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc.
The police agency said that it had identified 4 suspects who directly used homemade guns to shoot at the evacuation group, killing 3 people on the spot and seriously injuring dozens of others.

“In this case, one subject is suspected by the police of having an accomplice role, the remaining three subjects participated in the fatal shooting. These subjects are all residents of Dak Nhau commune, Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province. They have been going to Dak Ngo commune, Tuy Duc district for a long time to work and have a land dispute with Long Son Company Limited. At the time of the incident, the subjects used homemade guns to shoot randomly at the evacuation team, of which three people died on the spot, dozens of others were injured, all of whom were employees of Long Son Company,” said Colonel Luong Ngoc Lep, Deputy Director of Dak Nong Provincial Police.
