Two prisoners who escaped from Xuan Ha Prison were captured.
After more than 3 days of escaping from Xuan Ha Prison, two prisoners Phan Cong Thanh and Nguyen Dac Hoang were arrested by the authorities at 1:45 a.m. on December 9 while hiding in Cam Lac commune, Cam Xuyen district (Ha Tinh).
On the morning of December 9, speaking to reporters, a leader of the Xuan Ha Prison Supervisory Board (Department C10 - Ministry of Public Security) confirmed that the authorities had captured two prisoners who had escaped from detention after three days of escaping from Sub-camp No. 2 of Xuan Ha Prison, located in Cam Son commune, Cam Xuyen district (Ha Tinh).
Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on December 6, taking advantage of a loophole, two prisoners Phan Cong Thanh (born in 1987), residing in Thach Chau commune, Loc Ha district (Ha Tinh) and Nguyen Dac Hoang (born in 1984), residing in Cam Nhuong commune, Cam Xuyen district (Ha Tinh) escaped from Sub-camp No. 2 of Xuan Ha Prison.
These are two subjects serving 19-year and 20-year prison sentences for the crimes of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" and "Illegal drug trafficking". Of which, prisoner Phan Cong Thanh has served 2 years, 7 months and 12 days for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property". Prisoner Nguyen Dac Hoang has served 6 years, 6 months and 7 days for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
Immediately after discovering that two prisoners had escaped from the prison, the Xuan Ha Prison Board informed the authorities and the people to take precautions and coordinate in the capture. At the same time, the force was organized to carry out professional measures with the goal of quickly capturing the prisoners.
On the afternoon of December 7, Lieutenant Colonel Cao Ngoc Dien - Warden of Xuan Ha Prison signed a nationwide wanted notice for two prisoners who escaped from detention.
From 1:30 p.m. on December 7, Ha Tinh Police mobilized more than 2,000 officers and soldiers, including professional units, Criminal Police, Traffic Police, Investigation Police, Local Police and Commune Police, to deploy professional measures to search.
On the morning of December 8, the Ha Tinh Police Mobile Police also mobilized 4 more sniffer dogs to track down the suspects in the coastal mangrove forest of Cam Xuyen district and the cajuput forest in the communes of Cam Son, Cam Lac, and Cam Minh in the area.
Colonel Nguyen Hong Phong - Director of Ha Tinh Provincial Police added that the location where the subjects were discovered and arrested was in the mountainous forest area of Cam Lac commune, Cam Xuyen district.
Currently, the subjects have been handed over to Xuan Ha Prison for handling according to the provisions of law.
