According to CNBC, a group of scientists has just announced that they have discovered a cheaper way to extract CO2.2from air and then converted into gasoline or other fuels.
This opens up the opportunity to give humans a new tool to combat climate change.
The research results were presented in a scientific report published in the journal Joule on June 7. In it, the research team presented a new technique to "extract" CO gas.2from air and then converted into gasoline, diesel or jet fuel.
Canadian clean energy company Carbon Engineering has teamed up with Harvard University scientists to discover a way to extract fuel from removing 1 ton of CO.2only 94 USD
Thus, with this technology, people can simultaneously achieve two goals: cleaning the environment and creating an environmentally friendly liquefied energy source.
According to David Keith, a Harvard professor and founder of Carbon Energy, "So far research shows that it would cost up to $600 to remove each ton of CO2."2from the air using DAC technology, making the process too expensive to be a viable solution for large-scale carbon removal.
We now have the data and technology to demonstrate that DAC technology can do this at a cost of less than $100 per ton."
DAC technology (short for "direct air capture") is a technique used by Carbon Engineering to extract CO2from the air
Carbon Engineering is owned by several private investors, including billionaire Bill Gates.
