Diversifying propaganda on increasing the density and embellishing the Vietnam - Laos border marker system

The conference was organized by the National Border Committee in coordination with the Steering Committee for Vietnam-Laos Border Marker Planting in Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh provinces.
Attending the conference were representatives of the National Border Committee. On the side of Nghe An province, there was Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

The Vietnam-Laos border is more than 2,300 km long, running through 10 provinces of Vietnam; of which, Nghe An has 6 border districts adjacent to 3 provinces of Laos.
Recently, Vietnam and Laos have negotiated and agreed to resolve the border issue between the two countries, agreed to delineate the border line on documents and maps, clearly demarcate the entire border line in the field, and mark the border position with a system of 834 border markers and 168 border posts. Of which, the border marker system in Nghe An province has 116 markers, including 3 large markers and other markers.

At the conference, representatives of leaders of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh provinces reported an overview of the situation of increasing and upgrading the national border marker system in the area. Besides the advantages and achievements, delegates also pointed out some difficulties such as: the border area has rugged terrain, harsh weather, transporting markers and materials to the border line faces many obstacles; along the border there are many bombs, mines and explosives left over from the war; sabotage activities of hostile forces...
The conference also deployed the implementation of legal documents on the management of the Vietnam-Laos national border. In order to better manage the Vietnam-Laos border in the new situation, the National Border Committee requested that localities thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the viewpoints and policies of our Party and State on national borders and territories.
At the same time, diversify the forms and contents of propaganda, dissemination and education to raise awareness among all cadres, soldiers and people about border work in general and the Vietnam - Laos border relationship in particular; effectively carry out state management of territorial borders in localities.
