Increase manpower, increase flights

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, travel demand during the 2020 Lunar New Year is expected to increase by about 12% compared to the 2019 Lunar New Year and 22% compared to normal, reaching an estimated 12 million passengers. The total number of flights operated during the Lunar New Year could reach 73,000.

Since early December 2019, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has requested airlines to develop plans to increase flights during peak days; arrange night flights based on infrastructure and ensure flight safety; and operate flight schedules to minimize flight delays and cancellations.

The Department also requested airlines to sell tickets in advance in many forms and apply information technology, strictly control, prevent illegal ticket price increases, and take measures to prevent ticket speculation and trading.

In fact, since the fourth quarter of 2019, airlines have planned to coordinate personnel, increase flights, and always be ready to serve the peak season of the year.

According to the plan, from January 9 to February 8 (ie from December 15 to January 15), airlines will increase the number of seats on the entire network. Of which, Vietjet will provide nearly 2.5 million seats for domestic and international flights.

In addition, to serve the peak season of Lunar New Year, the festival season at the beginning of the year and the plan to expand the flight network in 2020, on December 31, 2019, Vietjet welcomed 2 new A321 aircraft to put into operation.

Mr. Cao Kien Quoc, Deputy Director of Vietjet Ground Services Department, said that Vietjet has increased and mobilized human resources and is always ready to serve passengers during the Tet peak season.

Many international routes serve Spring travel

In addition to increasing human resources and flights during the Lunar New Year, airlines also launch many attractive promotional programs for both passengers returning home for Tet and passengers traveling for spring.

The most prominent is still Vietjet's huge promotion program with 5 million tickets priced from only 0 VND for all domestic and international flights of more than 150 routes.

According to the ticket sales channel system, passengers in the North tend to celebrate Tet in sunny southern provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho or enjoy the clear blue sea and fresh seafood in Phu Quoc and Nha Trang. Passengers from the South who want to enjoy a bit of cool air will choose destinations such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh, Da Nang, Hue or Da Lat.

Ms. Dinh Thi Nguyet Nga (Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi) shared: “After looking around Vietjet’s promotional flights, I found that the tickets from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City were so cheap. For international flights, airlines also operate many new routes to serve the travel and pilgrimage needs of people during Tet.

Vietjet alone opened a series of direct flights from many provinces and cities in the country to countries in the region in December 2019 and January 2020. Buddhists can make a pilgrimage to the land of Buddha (India) through direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi. Tourists who love the warm sunshine and blue sea of ​​Pattaya (Thailand) will fly directly from Ho Chi Minh City to Pattaya. From Da Nang, passengers can easily fly to tourist paradises such as Taipei (Taiwan), Singapore and Hong Kong (China). From Can Tho, passengers can fly directly to Taipei, Seoul (Korea)...
