Da Lat opens the 6th Flower Festival

The Flower Festival event is a cultural and tourist highlight for local people and domestic and foreign tourists. At the same time, it is also a continuation, affirmation, honor and promotion of the flower values ​​of Da Lat.

With the theme "Da Lat, colorful flowers", on the night of December 29, the 6th Da Lat Flower Festival 2015 officially opened at Lam Vien Park with the participation of thousands of people and tourists from all over the world, including more than 20 embassies and consulates from various countries. The 6th Flower Festival will take place from now until January 2, 2016.

This year's Flower Festival has 9 main programs and 19 supporting programs, a cultural and tourist destination for locals, domestic and foreign visitors, continuing, affirming, honoring and promoting the flower values ​​of Da Lat.

Mr. Doan Van Viet - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Flower Festival 2015 said that Flower Festival is an opportunity for flower growers, researchers and businessmen to exchange and connect Da Lat flower brand to the world market. "This is also an opportunity for Lam Dong province to promote local high-tech agricultural products such as vegetables, tea, coffee, mulberry, medicinal herbs and nearly 20 agricultural product brands", Mr. Viet emphasized.

Currently, Da Lat has more than 4,000 hectares of flowers of all kinds, with an output of 6 billion flower stems per year, of which 20% is exported. In recent years, many foreign investors have chosen Da Lat to invest in high-end flower cultivation.

Also on this occasion, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) officially awarded a certificate recognizing Lang Biang Biosphere Reserve (Lam Dong) as the 9th World Biosphere Reserve in Vietnam.
