However, Dr. Dang Chi Hien - Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Technology, Institute of Chemical Technology said that advertising the salt lamp as having countless miraculous uses is not accurate. There is no device that can have so many miraculous and miraculous uses, the seller has exaggerated them for the purpose of selling.
According to Dr. Hien's analysis, when people come to an area with fresh air, they will feel comfortable and relaxed because that place has a much higher ratio of negative ions than positive ions. In big cities with lots of vehicles and dust, the amount of positive ions is higher than negative ions, so people feel stuffy.
“But to say that salt lamps have the ability to eliminate positive ions requires analysis to have sufficient data to confirm. From a physical perspective, advertising the miraculous effects of salt lamps like that is not true to physical principles, showing a lack of understanding of physical mechanisms," Dr. Hien affirmed.
However, Dr. Hien also said that currently in the country there has not been any complete scientific research on the miraculous uses of salt lamps. Therefore, the mechanism of the countless miraculous uses advertised for salt lamps is illogical and has no scientific basis.
According to Mr. Duong Minh Tri (Institute of Physics, Ho Chi Minh City), lighting a salt lamp to emit a substance or gas that has the effect of removing toxic gases and purifying the air environment needs to be measured and tested to know.
