A large sum of money abandoned on the highway has been identified.

According to the police, all of this money is counterfeit. The total amount of money people have brought in to hand over so far is approximately 22 million VND.

On August 7th, the Phan Thiet City Police announced the results of the examination of a large sum of money, consisting of 200,000 and 500,000 VND banknotes, found in a large bag at the construction site of the Bac Xuan An residential area (Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province), near National Highway 1A.

According to the police, all of this money is counterfeit. The total amount of money people have brought in to hand over so far is approximately 22 million VND.

Earlier, at around 9:00 AM on August 1st, while using an excavator to level the ground for the construction of the Bac Xuan An Residential Area Project, workers discovered a large quantity of polymer banknotes with denominations of 500,000 and 200,000 VND contained in a large bag.

According to several witnesses, immediately after the discovery, some passersby and construction workers began digging through the money, with some finding a large sum.

Immediately after receiving the report, Phan Thiet City Police sealed off the scene and recovered several banknotes of 200,000 and 500,000 VND denominations. The police encouraged people to hand over any money they had found, and so far, approximately 22 million VND has been submitted to the police by residents.
