The cause of mass death of specialty fish in Tuong Duong has been determined.

(Baonghean.vn) - Immediately after receiving information that fish in cages of some households in Hoa Binh town had died, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district directed an inspection to determine the cause.

According to Mr. Lo Kham Kha - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tuong Duong district: Recently, due to Ban Ang Hydropower Plant releasing water from the bottom to lower the water level to repair the stone embankment protecting National Highway 7 through Ang village, a large amount of mud and soil was carried away, polluting the Lam River, which was one of the reasons why fish suffocated and died.

Currently, after a field inspection, the District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has assigned staff to guide households in cleaning cages by removing leftover food, cleaning up accumulated waste around them, and raising the cages to increase the amount of oxygen in the fish cages. It is recommended that people do not throw dead fish into the river, which will further pollute the water source.

According to Mr. Lo Kham Kha, the district will ask the factory to allocate a welfare fund to support households with dead fish.
