“A typical example is the involvement of Ukrainian military intelligence in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in the suburbs of Moscow, which we have verified,” Alexandr Bortnikov said at a meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee.
He clarified that Ukrainian and Western intelligence agencies are expanding the recruitment of potential perpetrators who can commit high-profile crimes on Russian territory, while also providing training and equipment to international terrorist organizations.
In May, at a meeting of the heads of security and special services of the CIS member states in Bishkek, Mr. Bortnikov stated that Ukrainian military intelligence was “directly involved” in the terrorist attack in “Crocus”.
The terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall Concert Hall in Krasnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow, occurred on March 22: attackers opened fire with automatic weapons on people in the building and set fire to the auditorium. 145 people were killed, and the Crocus City Hall was completely burned down.
