On the afternoon of September 13, the special criminal police team of the Department of Investigation of Crimes on Social Order (PC45) of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that they had handed over Nguyen Ngoc Trung Hien (29 years old) and Ta Thanh Vy (25 years old, both residing in District 10) to the police of Ward 15 (District 10) to investigate and clarify the act of robbery.

Initial information, at about 1:10 p.m. the same day, Ms. N. (28 years old, residing in District 1) was holding an iPhone 6plus phone standing in front of her house in alley 68 Dong Nai (Ward 15, District 10) when Hien, who was carrying Vy on a motorbike, approached her and snatched the phone and gave it to Vy to keep.

Discovering the incident, special forces detectives (PC45) immediately chased through several routes to alley 452 Nhat Tao (Ward 7, District 10) and controlled both of them along with the vehicle and evidence, handing them over to the police of Ward 15 (District 10) for handling.

At the police station, Hien initially confessed to being addicted to drugs and having two previous convictions for robbery.
