(Baonghean.vn) - Reading the students' writings, one can clearly feel the innocence, naivety, but also the warmth and purity of student life. There, students can share their feelings and express their affection for their parents, teachers and school.

Reviving passion

Many years ago, Nghe An used to be the "cradle" of many young writers with many famous writing groups in the country. However, over the past 10 years, literary playgrounds for students have gradually disappeared. Students today no longer love and are passionate about literature as much as before.
To encourage the writing movement in schools, many writing competitions have recently been restarted by schools, especially on occasions such as Vietnamese Teachers' Day and International Women's Day. Although the scale of the competitions is not large, this is also a channel for students to express their talent and passion for writing.

“Pink Book” is a publication that was recently released by the “Pink Book” Club of Nghi An Secondary School (Vinh City) at the end of December 2023. The publication with the theme “School” is 38 pages thick, and was “conceived” by the club for many months with rich and attractive content and genres.

In the publication, club members can show their talent in drawing, writing short stories, writing emotions, jokes and even cute, funny images that they recorded right at the school they are studying at.

In addition, there are pages of literature and poetry for students to express their gratitude to their teachers and parents. What is special is that in addition to the 9th graders, there are also many young authors in 6th and 7th grade participating in the publication. In the first season of publication, although the number of copies printed was not much, many parents and students registered to buy to support and preserve beautiful memories of their school days.

The “Pink Book” Club of Nghi An Secondary School was formerly the school’s Literature Club. Established 2 years ago, the club has been operating effectively since this school year after “reducing” its activities and focusing mainly on students who love literature and books of the school. With 35 members, the club only meets once a month. In order for members to stick with the club, the board of directors always tries to be creative in each meeting and creates many playgrounds for students to express themselves.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Kim Huong - Head of the "Pink Book" Club shared: "In fact, it only took us 1 month to build the content and collect the articles. Reading the articles sent by the students, we are very happy to see their love for literature. Besides, there are many new and unique articles, not "like sample essays", proving that the students are very serious about this activity. This is also an interesting experience, not only for the students but also for the teachers, and the happiest thing is that our publications are positively received".

At Do Luong 1 High School, in recent years, the School Youth Union has regularly organized writing contests, with many topics about teachers, schools, school violence and most recently a writing contest about mothers. The students' writings were shared on the school's fanpage and received the attention and follow-up of many teachers, students and parents with many emotions.

“For each writing contest, we receive hundreds of entries and the best entries will be shared on the school’s official pages. When judging the students’ entries, we were very surprised because they were all very real stories about their families, friendships, teachers and school; many students did not hesitate to share even sad stories and failures...

Compared to many other activities of the Union, I think that the implementation of writing competitions has its own meanings. Firstly, it is for students to express their passion and talent. Secondly, this is an opportunity for them to express their emotions. This competition is also not expensive, but it attracts many students to participate and has a wider spread because it has a lot of likes and shares."

Teacher Tran Thi Lam Giang - Secretary of the Youth Union of Do Luong 1 High School said

In addition to establishing clubs and launching writing competitions, currently, the publication of magazines is also being paid attention to and maintained regularly by some schools. Among them, we must mention the publication "Suoi Ngan" of the Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2, the publication CP The News - Magazine of Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School...

The launch of publications is also a way to "honor" the writings of students and once again revive the writing movement and love of literature of Nghe An students.

“I think that Mom is a woman who likes to talk a lot, to the point that I get annoyed and respond with harsh words. Then Mom quietly turns away like the one at fault. I think that Mom will always be the one who has to endure every time I get angry, so sometimes I still raise my voice at Mom. Just to satisfy that anger.

I think the generation gap between me and my mother is too big. She is not familiar with technology so she always asks me how to use it. I keep telling her but she still doesn't understand, so I get upset and go into my room. But I forget, my mother was very patient to show me how to walk, how to hold chopsticks...".

Nguyen Tram Anh is a student in the Russian language class. She shared that writing is not her forte, but when she heard about this contest, she told herself she would participate because she wanted to write about her mother.

Tram Anh's article is more than 3,000 words long with 7 short stories, written in 2 days, leaving readers with many emotions. Tram Anh's story is the story of a 17-year-old female student with many stubborn and capricious traits of puberty. During her growing up, her mother is a special teacher, teaching her many meaningful lessons, such as "self-protection", teaching her to be a "good person", "books and guitars"... There were "misunderstandings and hurts" between mother and daughter, but after all, she realized:“…With that small body, how could my mother withstand the storms of life, how could she protect me without ever falling down. It turns out that my mother was always secretly weak alone. She hid her sweat and tears. She became incredibly strong so that I could rest assured and lean on her thin shoulders...”.
