Prison 'eagle' stabbed two inmates with knife one night

Minh woke up and stabbed two fellow prisoners repeatedly with a homemade knife in revenge for the fight.

On September 14, the People's Court of Ha Tinh province opened the first instance trial of Nguyen Ngoc Minh (43 years old, residing in Nghe An) for the crime of murder.

According to the indictment, Minh was a prisoner serving his sentence at Xuan Ha Prison, located in Thach Luu Commune (Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh). Having fought with two fellow prisoners, Doan Van Nhan (residing in Ha Tinh) and Tran Phu Cuong (residing in Hanoi), Minh was angry and took a knife, looking for an opportunity to take revenge.

At around 1:30 a.m. on February 6, when he saw that the prisoners in the cell were fast asleep, Minh took a homemade knife 21 cm long and a piece of wood and approached Nhan's bed and attacked him. He continued to "deal with" prisoner Cuong.

Cuong woke up and struggled, and Minh hit him repeatedly on the head with a piece of wood. Hearing the noise, the inmates in the same cell came to stop him and reported it to the warden. The victims were taken to the emergency room in time and survived, suffering from 8-19% disability.

The court determined that the defendant's actions were dangerous, disregarded the lives of others, and intentionally committed the crime to the end, so he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. In addition to this sentence, Minh must continue to serve the sentence.13 years in prison for two crimes of Robbery and Illegal drug trafficking of the previous sentence.
