Provincial People's Council representatives meet with voters in Hoang Mai town.
(Baonghean.vn) -As part of the voter outreach program before and after the 11th session of the 16th Provincial People's Council, on the morning of June 10th, at the Quỳnh Phương Ward Cultural Center, provincial People's Council representatives including Mr. Huỳnh Thanh Điền - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Trường - Chief of the Office of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and People's Council; and Mr. Nguyễn Quang Trạch - Chief of the Office of the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with voters from 10 communes and wards of Hoàng Mai town.

At the meeting, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, reported on the planned content, time, and program of the 11th session of the 16th Provincial People's Council, the results of implementing the resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, and the results of implementing socio-economic, national defense, and security tasks in the province during the first six months of 2014. Voters from the communes and wards of Hoang Mai town raised several issues and made recommendations to the delegates, including: The people and fishermen of Hoang Mai strongly protested against China's encroachment on Vietnam's territorial waters, requesting that the Party and State provide financial support policies for fishermen to build new vessels with a capacity of over 10,000 horsepower so that they can confidently go out to sea. They also requested that the Provincial People's Committee approve the project to dredge and clear the Con channel to facilitate the entry and exit of vessels seeking shelter from storms during the rainy season.

Many voters in Quynh Trang and Quynh Vinh communes requested that the government provide support mechanisms for seeds and fertilizers to help farmers develop production and prevent them from turning away from agriculture. Relevant authorities need to quickly classify forests to assign management responsibilities to individuals and groups, avoiding land disputes. Voters in Quynh Phuong ward reflected on the inadequacies in the mechanism for reducing the number of fisheries extension workers and village health workers, causing difficulties for the locality. Some voters also requested that the government pay attention to those who have contributed to the revolution, and provide support policies for disabled veterans who have lost their documents; they also requested that the People's Committee of Nghe An province and Hoang Mai town soon develop a plan to build a separate symbol marking the birth and development of Hoang Mai town.
After listening to the opinions of voters in Hoang Mai town, the delegates of the 16th Provincial People's Council acknowledged and explained some issues within their authority; for other issues, the delegates promised to present them to the Provincial People's Council at the next session.
