(Baonghean.vn) - On October 1st, the National Assembly deputies:Le Quang Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Vi Thi Huong, Deputy Director of the Southwest Nghe An General Hospital, met with voters in Keng Du commune, Ky Son district.

Attending the meeting with voters were leaders of Ky Son district, representatives of the State Bank of Vietnam in Nghe An province, the Social Policy Bank, and the Agricultural Bank of Ky Son district.

Keng Du is a border commune located in the northwest of Ky Son district, with 25 km of border shared with Laos. The commune comprises 10 villages and is home to two ethnic groups, the Thai and the Khmu, with the Khmu accounting for 92.8% of the population. The lives of the people in the commune are very difficult and impoverished, with 72.4% of households living in poverty, inadequate transportation infrastructure, no access to the national power grid, and many villages lacking clean water.

During the meeting, the National Assembly representatives reported to the voters on several issues related to the 8th session of the 13th National Assembly and some socio-economic issues.

Voters in Keng Du commune proposed several issues to National Assembly representatives and the People's Committee of Ky Son district, including: creating conditions for commune health workers to attend advanced training courses; increasing allowances for village heads; investing in, repairing, and upgrading water supply facilities in Huoi Cang, Keng Du, Huoi Xui, Quyet Thang, and Huoi Le villages; constructing new roads from the commune center to the villages; some voters requested that the government create conditions for job placement for young people in the commune who have graduated from accounting, medical, land administration, and judicial schools; implementing a debt restructuring policy for students who borrowed money for their studies but have not yet found employment; taking measures to prevent illegal human trafficking; and resolving boundary disputes with neighboring communes such as My Ly, Bac Ly, and Dooc May.

Concluding the meeting with voters, Comrade Le Quang Huy affirmed that, in recent years, the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, and central agencies have implemented many policies to support ethnic minority communities in mountainous and border areas, including Keng Du commune. Along with the efforts of the people and local authorities, Keng Du commune is gradually changing. Regarding the opinions and suggestions of the commune's voters, the National Assembly delegation of Nghe An province will consider and provide feedback to the Provincial People's Committee as well as in the upcoming National Assembly session.
