Members of Parliament meet with voters in Nghi Phu commune (Vinh City).

October 6, 2011 16:05

(Baonghean)As part of the voter outreach program before the 2nd session of the 13th National Assembly, on the morning of October 6th, National Assembly deputies Mr. Tran Huu Tuat, Ms. Nguyen Minh Hong, and Ms. Le Thi Tam met with voters in Nghi Phu commune (Vinh City).

During the meeting with constituents, representatives frankly reflected on the practical issues facing the country, such as the high unemployment rate among university, college, and vocational school graduates; the widening gap between rich and poor; policies for those who have rendered meritorious service to the nation; negative issues in medical facilities; and the lack of attention to medical ethics. Constituents also raised concerns about the current land compensation system, which applies two prices: one based on state regulations and the other negotiated by businesses, creating inequality and inadequacies. They requested that the National Assembly and the Government study and adjust the system to create uniformity in compensation for land acquisition for projects and constructions. Also related to land, many constituents suggested that the National Assembly, the Government, and central ministries and agencies should study and amend relevant regulations to better suit practical realities and ensure social order and discipline.

Many voters expressed their desire for National Assembly representatives to have more plans to interact with constituents, to travel more to listen to their opinions and feedback, and for each representative to strive to have a voice and contribute more in the National Assembly forum, worthy of being a representative of the will and aspirations of the voters.

Following this, the National Assembly delegates explained several issues related to their areas of management and operation that voters were concerned about, and promised to fully consider the aspirations and feedback of voters to submit to the National Assembly, the Government, and central ministries and agencies for research, consideration, and resolution.
