Persistent, painful problem of illegal vehicles
(Baonghean.vn) - In October 2018, Nghe An Newspaper published a special article reflecting on the rampant illegal vehicle traffic, causing social problems. After that, the authorities took positive actions, but to this day, illegal vehicles are still rampant.
Part 1: "Kidnapping and Leaving the Disk"
Since the last months of 2018, the authorities have stepped up inspections and penalties for cases of passenger transport without a business license by car (illegal vehicles). The initial results from these campaigns cannot be denied, but looking at the reality, the results are not as expected, just like "kidnapping and abandoning the disk".
Sophisticated tricks
At 8:00 a.m. on the first day of April 2019, the parking lot outside the fence of Nghe An General Hospital was packed, with almost no space left. It would not be unusual if among the hundreds of cars parked here, there were nearly 30 7-seat cars of various types: Isuzu, Ford Everer, Jazz...; and according to a person who regularly works at the hospital gate, those are illegal cars waiting for customers - people who are going to see a doctor.
“After taking patients from home to the hospital for medical examination, these cars park in the hospital parking lot to wait for the patients to finish their examination and then take them back. They don't park on the street like before because they might get "caught". They are willing to pay 10,000 VND for parking, it will be safer., this man said and added that, as one car leaves, another one arrives, so the parking lot never runs out of cars.
At around 11am, a group of people still holding test results and X-ray films were led by a man to the hospital gate, then got into a car with license plate 37A - 356... that was parked. When everyone was seated, the driver looked around, and when he felt it was safe, he slowly started the car.
After the car reached Lenin Avenue, the driver stepped on the gas and headed straight for Vinh Airport. The reporter followed and saw the car approaching the gate of Hospital 115. The driver quickly pulled over, got out and opened the door for a man to get in. At this time, besides the driver, there were 8 people in the car. Because it could not pick up any more passengers, the car sped away, ignoring the people standing on the side of the road waving their hands to “get a ride”.
