Russian representative at the United Nations: Ukraine is turning into a private military company of the West
(Baonghean.vn) - At a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, Mr. Dmitry Polyansky - First Deputy Representative of Russia to the United Nations said that Ukraine has actually turned into a private military company of Western countries that are launching a proxy war against Moscow.
According to TASS news agency, Dmitry Polyansky said that the Ukrainian government had initialed a draft agreement with Moscow after it was drafted in Istanbul in March 2022. However, the Ukrainian government then refused to resolve the conflict peacefully. This, Polyansky said, “directly concerns the UK.”
“This is when a really hot phase of NATO's proxy war against Russia to the last Ukrainian began. And Ukraine, in fact, became a private military company hired by Washington, London and Brussels,” Polyansky pointed out.
On the same day, Mr. Polyansky also announced that Russia expressed its disagreement with the UK's unilateral decision to invite eight EU and NATO countries to attend the United Nations Security Council meeting on Ukraine.
Russia's first deputy representative to the United Nations pointed out, "according to general practice, no more than three countries will participate in the meeting on Ukraine under rule 37."
The diplomat also said that the presence of EU and NATO representatives would not bring “added value” to the discussion, but would only “drag out into debates”. He added: “There is no reasonable explanation for why a Security Council meeting should be turned into a NATO party”.
