Vietnamese representative won the Gold Award for Best Costume at Miss Earth 2018
Surpassing representatives from 94 countries, Nguyen Phuong Khanh won the Gold Medal for the national costume of Asia and Oceania at the Miss Earth 2018 contest with the costume "Sun Goddess".
This year, the theme of the National Costume at the Miss Earth 2018 pageant is “Goddess of the Earth”. |
Phuong Khanh's national costume for the contest is called "Sun Goddess" by NTL Linh San, inspired by the image of Greek gods, especially the Sun god, in line with the theme of the contest. |
Designer Linh San cleverly combined the image of a goddess with the design of Vietnamese ao dai, the headdress combined with the image of a familiar goddess hat in Greek mythology, especially the combination with the cloak of Vietnamese female generals, creating a national costume that looks both familiar and strange, although a bit mixed with Western images but still has the typical beauty of Vietnamese national costumes. |
It was this uniqueness that helped Phuong Khanh conquer the judges and win the award for Best National Costume. |
The design of “Sun Goddess” is a blend of traditional and modern beauty, so the outfit is both majestic and splendid but still very sexy, soft, feminine and luxurious. |
The national costume competition at Miss Earth 2018 was vibrant and colorful. |
Contestants from Africa brought to the competition traditional costumes of their countries. |
From the Philippines, Phuong Khanh emotionally said: “After the competition ended, the media expressed their praise for Vietnam’s costume, the TV stations filmed every detail of the costume very carefully. I am so proud and happy that I don’t know how to express it.” |
