Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: America has failed in 40 years of challenging Iran
(Baonghean.vn) - Iran's state television reported that the country's supreme leader, Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said on November 3 that the United States has been unable to reassert its rule over Tehran since Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution overthrew the US-backed King Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi.

Speaking at a meeting with thousands of students, Mr. Khamenei said: "The goal of the US is to re-establish the dominance they had (before 1979), but it has failed. The US has been defeated by this Islamic Republic for the past 40 years."
Iran’s Supreme Leader asserted: “The new US president (Mr. Trump) has rejected the remnants of American prestige as well as liberal democracy. The hard power of the US, such as economic and military power, is also being rejected by Mr. Trump himself.”
In addition, Mr. Khamenei also said that the world opposes all decisions of US President Donald Trump.
On the same day, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif called on Europe to maintain support for Tehran, as Washington prepares to re-impose sanctions on the Islamic Republic's key oil sector.
Washington will reimpose sanctions on Iran's key oil exports and banking sectors on November 4 to force Tehran to curb its missile and regional activities and accept tougher curbs on its nuclear program./.
