Webometrics rankings are not based solely on website size, traffic, or design, but focus on promoting the electronic publication of research results, documents, and scientific information; and assess the overall quality of higher education institutions' activities as reflected on their websites, especially research results and the number of publications in the Scopus database.
In this ranking, Vietnamese higher education institutions are ranked low mainly due to limitations in academic quality criteria (number of international publications).
