Vinh University organizes the National Day Celebration of Laos and Thailand

(Baonghean.vn) – On the afternoon of December 1, Vinh University held a ceremony to celebrate the 41st National Day of the Lao PDR (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2016) and the 89th National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand (December 5, 1927 - December 5, 2016).

Attending the ceremony and sharing joy with Lao and Thai students studying in Vinh city, there were representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Nghe An Provincial Police; Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association; Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association; Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Volunteers in Laos; Teachers and Lao and Thai students studying at Vinh University, Vinh Medical University, Vinh University of Industry, Vinh University of Technical Education, Nghe An University of Economics and Nghe An College of Education.

A large number of delegates attended the celebration of the National Day of the Lao PDR and the Kingdom of Thailand.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Party Committee and Board of Directors of Vinh University sent their best wishes to Lao and Thai students; as well as reviewed the precious tradition of friendship between Vietnam - Laos and Vietnam - Thailand.

Associate Professor, Dr. Thai Van Thanh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of Vinh University read a speech at the celebration ceremony.

The leaders of Vinh University hope that international students from both countries will always study well and train well to contribute to building a rich and beautiful homeland, strengthening the friendship between peoples of the countries, and building ASEAN into a rich and strong community.

In celebration of the 41st anniversary of the National Day of the Lao PDR and the 89th anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, in recent days, Vinh University has organized many exciting cultural and sports activities and cultural exchanges imbued with the identity of 400 Lao and Thai students studying at the school and students studying at universities and colleges in Vinh city.

Vinh University leaders awarded prizes to international students with high achievements in the National Day Sports Competition.

During the ceremony, in addition to awarding international students with excellent achievements in study and training, Vinh University also awarded prizes to the winning teams in the sports tournament celebrating the National Day.

The Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations awarded certificates of merit to international students with excellent academic achievements and participation in people-to-people diplomacy activities.

The Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations also presented certificates of merit to Laotian students who had excellent achievements in studying and participating in people-to-people diplomacy activities; the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association and the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association also awarded scholarships to Laotian and Thai students on the occasion of the two countries' National Day./.
