Congress of Exemplary Children of Uncle Ho in Truong Thi Ward (Vinh City)

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 18, 2015, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union and the Children's Council of Truong Thi Ward organized the 6th "Outstanding Children of Uncle Ho" Congress of the ward, term 2015-2020, at the historical site of Uncle Ho's ancestral home. The congress honored 70 outstanding children of Uncle Ho, representing more than 1000 members of the Children's Council and young children throughout the ward.

The congress also reviewed the results of the past five years of implementing the campaigns for children to follow Uncle Ho's teachings and the movement to speak kind words and do good deeds. Through programs such as "Proud of Tradition, Following in the Footsteps of Our Ancestors"; "Cultivating Knowledge, Stepping Firmly Towards the Future"; and "Pink Scarf Volunteerism, Spreading Love," the congress contributed to educating the younger generation about national traditions, ethics, and lifestyles, striving to fulfill the five teachings of Uncle Ho to become good children, good students, good team members, and good grandchildren of Uncle Ho. The entire ward collected hundreds of textbooks and notebooks, and hundreds of sets of clothes worth tens of millions of dong to donate to children in the western part of Nghe An province. 100% of the youth teams donated to support the construction of "New Rural Areas" and "Homeland Islands" with a total value of 15 million dong...

Particularly in the 2013-2014 school year, the primary school had 1 student who won a national gold medal in non-specialized informatics, 1 national gold medal in chess, 2 national bronze medals in English, and 1 student from class 9A who achieved the national award for excellent English; there were also 13 outstanding students at the provincial and city levels. The congress elected 4 outstanding members to represent the children of the ward at the 9th Vinh City "Good Children of Uncle Ho" Congress in 2015.
