(Baonghean.vn) - On September 6 and 7, 2017, Military Region 4 organized the 9th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (2017 - 2022).
Attending and directing the Congress were Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Military Region; Lieutenant General Vo Van Viet - Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Military Region. Also attending the Congress were comrades in the Party Standing Committee, the Military Region Command, representatives of the Office of the General Department of Politics, the Military Youth Committee; heads of Military Region agencies and 200 outstanding delegates from Youth Union organizations in the Military Region's Armed Forces. |
The report on the results of the work of the Youth Union and youth movement (CTĐ, PTTN) of the Military Region's Armed Forces in the period of 2012 - 2017 clearly stated that over the past 5 years, under the leadership, direction and guidance of the Party Committee Standing Committee, the Command and the Political Department of the Military Region, the work of the Youth Union and youth movement at all levels of the Youth Union have developed in both breadth and depth; the emulation movements have achieved quality, practical effectiveness, creating a widespread influence, affirming the great contributions of Youth Union members (YU) in all areas of work.

The Youth Union's work was deployed comprehensively, systematically, in the right direction, with a focus on actively innovating the content and form of activities, exceeding the goals, targets, and action programs set forth by the 8th Military Region Youth Union Congress.
All youth activities focus on making breakthroughs in resolving weak links and weak aspects, linking the building of a strong youth union organization with actively participating in building a clean and strong Party organization and a strong unit in all aspects, making an important contribution to improving the overall quality and combat strength of the Military Region's armed forces.
Political education and ideological orientation work is carried out in many diverse and rich forms associated with the implementation of Directives 03 and 05 of the Politburo in conjunction with the implementation of the Campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers".
Over the past 5 years, the youth of the Military Region has completed 246 youth tasks and 453 youth projects with high value and practical effectiveness, bearing the mark of youth, creating a clean and beautiful environment and landscape. The rate of youth union members violating discipline is under 0.2%.
With the slogan of action "Shock - Creativity - Determination to Win" and on the basis of the orientation of the movement "Youth Volunteers"; "Creative Youth"; "Youth Shocking to Protect the Fatherland" of the youth nationwide; the movement "Youth of the Army cultivates morality, trains talent, is shock, creative, determined to win"; "Youth of the Army joins hands to build new countryside"...
The Congress determined the direction and tasks of the Youth Union and youth movement for the period (2017-2022) associated with the movement "One shock - Two creativity - Three determination to win".

Speaking at the Congress, Lieutenant General Vo Van Viet - Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Region congratulated and commended the efforts and endeavors of the youth of the Military Region's armed forces in the past time, and at the same time requested Party committees, commanders, political commissars, political officers, and political agencies at all levels to continue to thoroughly grasp the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress, the Party's viewpoints and thoughts on youth and youth work, do a good job of planning, training, fostering, and training the contingent of youth union cadres; pay attention to creating favorable conditions for youth union organizations and youth movements to operate properly and effectively; promptly resolve the legitimate aspirations of youth; and encourage youth to actively strive, contribute, and mature.
During the two days, the 9th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Military Region 4 discussed and contributed opinions to the Draft Political Report of the Military Region's Political Department to the Congress; the Draft Political Report of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to the 11th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; the Draft Political Report of the General Political Department to the 9th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Army and elected delegates to the 9th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Army./.
