Party Congress of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for the 2020 - 2025 term
(Baonghean.vn) - "Focusing on leading and directing the implementation of political tasks, implementing the restructuring program of the agricultural sector in association with building new rural areas; developing agriculture towards ecological and sustainable agriculture" is the key task set by the Party Congress of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for the next term.

Production value increased rapidly

The average annual growth rate of crop production value is 2.9%. Continue to maintain and expand concentrated raw material growing areas, forming a number of valuable products in the chain. Productivity, output and added value per unit area increase rapidly, with an average income of 85 million VND/ha of agricultural land/year; the average output of grain crops in the 2016-2020 period is estimated at over 1.2 million tons (the target of the 18th Congress Resolution is over 1.1 million tons).
The whole province currently has over 965,000 hectares of forest land, of which the natural forest area is over 784,000 hectares, the planted forest area is 180,717 hectares, the forest cover reaches 58.5%, exceeding the target set by the Congress Resolution.

The growth rate of the aquaculture sector's output value is expected to reach 9.5 - 10% per year in the period of 2015 - 2020. Irrigation, dykes, natural disaster prevention, clean water & environmental sanitation, quality management, and food safety and hygiene are well implemented.
Many collectives and individuals were awarded Medals by the President, and Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Merit by the Government, ministries, branches, and the Provincial People's Committee. Every year, the Department's Party Committee is classified as having completed its tasks well, of which in 2016 it was classified as having completed its tasks excellently.

Restructuring the industry associated with building new rural areas
In the 2020 - 2025 term, the activities of the Party Committee of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development took place during the peak period of restructuring the industry towards increasing added value and sustainable development, and arranging the organizational apparatus according to Resolution No. 18 and 19 of the 6th Central Committee (term XII)...
The Congress determined that the Party Committee will continue to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations; improve the quality of Party members in conjunction with the quality of civil servants and public employees.
Focus on leading and directing the implementation of political tasks, restructuring the agricultural sector in association with building new rural areas, developing towards ecological, modern, sustainable agriculture, forming concentrated, large-scale commodity production areas, applying high technology.

Attending and directing the congress, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu requested that in the next term, the Party Committee of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development needs to strengthen the Party's leadership and direction, mobilize resources to restructure the industry in conjunction with the movement to build new rural areas.

The sector will focus on leadership, concretize the resolution, correctly identify key tasks, breakthroughs in leadership to perform tasks well; lead to well implement democratic regulations in agency activities; lead political and ideological education work associated with implementing Directive 05-CT/TW, overcome shortcomings and limitations of TW4 (XII) and regulations to set an example.
