The Vietnam - Ukraine Friendship Association of Nghe An province was established in 1995 and is one of 17 member organizations of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province.

In the past term, on the basis of inheriting the results of the association's activities in the previous period, while closely following the foreign policy of the Party and State, especially the attention, leadership and direct direction of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, the Vietnam - Ukraine Friendship Association of Nghe An province has had many practical and effective activities.

Notably, the Association has innovated information, propaganda and image promotion work.Vietnam countryin general and Nghe An in particular as well as the image of the countryUkraineand activities of the association.

The Association also strengthens exchange activities, connecting members of the Vietnam - Ukraine Friendship Association nationwide, in the province and the Nghe An community in Kiev city, contributing to spreading solidarity, friendship and the spirit of volunteerism to support poor students, Agent Orange victims and families in especially difficult circumstances in the province.

In particular, with the help of the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine, the Vietnam - Ukraine Friendship Association of Nghe An province directed and guided the Nghe An compatriots' association in Kiev city to open a Vietnamese language class, attracting nearly 100 Vietnamese children in Kiev city to participate.

During the past term, the Vietnam - Ukraine Friendship Association of Nghe An province also took care of the work of building the association's organization and developing its members. Currently, the Association has 5 branches, including 3 domestic branches (Don Nhet City Branch, Khac Cop City Branch, Nghe An Northeast Branch) and 2 branches abroad (Nghe An Compatriots' Association in Kiev City, Nghe An Compatriots' Association in Khac Cop City).

The Congress also set out the direction and tasks for the 2020-2025 term with the focus on continuing to build and develop the association; promoting information and propaganda work, promoting the image of the country, people and traditional friendship between the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Ukraine as well as exchange activities, connecting organizations, businesses, and philanthropists at home and abroad to invest and support resources for the socio-economic development of the province.

The association also sets out its determination to strengthen its activities and contribute topromote friendly cooperationdevelopment between the two countries and the two peoples of Vietnam and Ukraine.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Ukraine Friendship Association of Nghe An province for the 3rd term, 2020 - 2025 term, consisting of 11 members, and elected Mr. Nguyen Hoai An - former Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam - Ukraine Friendship Association of Nghe An province for the 2nd term, to continue to assume the position of Chairman of the Association for the 3rd term, 2020 - 2025 term.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 individuals; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 1 individual for their outstanding achievements in people-to-people diplomacy activities.
