Attending the Congress were 553 delegates representing 27,448 members, active in 288 Association-level units, 63 Provincial and City Journalists Associations, 20 Inter-Associations, and 205 Branches directly under the Central Association.

The 11th Congress has the task of reviewing the implementation of the Resolution of the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association; evaluating and summarizing the press activities and activities of the Association during the past year; evaluating the implementation of the policies and tasks on press work stated in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; determining important directions and tasks for the 11th term; implementing Directive No. 43-CT/TW dated April 8, 2020 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation; approving the Political Report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association for the 2015-2020 term and the Association's Charter (amended and supplemented); electing the Executive Committee and the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association for the 11th term (2020-2025 term).

At the morning session, the Congress elected the Presidium, the Secretariat, and the Delegate Qualification Review Board. The Congress also approved the agenda and working regulations, and the election regulations for the Congress Executive Committee. In addition, during the morning session, delegates listened to a report summarizing comments on draft Congress documents: the Political Report, and the report on amendments and supplements to the Charter.

At the preparatory meeting, 17 delegation groups discussed, introduced, and added personnel to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, term XI, 2020-2025. According to the structure, the term XI of the Vietnam Journalists Association, term 2020-2025, has 57 Executive Committee members. At the discussion session of Group 4, comrade Tran Minh Ngoc - Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association was introduced to the Congress to elect to join the new Executive Committee.

This afternoon, the Congress reported on the Project and personnel plan of the 11th Executive Committee; discussed and approved the number and structure of the Executive Committee; nominated candidates for the Executive Committee; announced the election results of the 11th Executive Committee and Inspection Committee; and approved the Political Report and the Association's Charter for the 11th term.
Next, the Executive Committee will hold its first meeting, electing the Standing Committee and the positions of President, Vice President, and Head of the Inspection Committee for the 11th term.
