Congress of the Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association for the term 2012-2017
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, June 29th, the Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association held its second congress for the 2012-2017 term. Attending the event were Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders from several provincial departments and agencies.
In implementing the Resolution of the 4th National Ornamental Plants Congress and the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Ornamental Plants Association Congress, over the past 5 years, the ornamental plants movement in our province has made positive progress.
To date, the province has over 4,000 members operating in 200 branches of 104 ornamental plant associations at the commune, ward, and town levels; over 400 hectares of ornamental plants, 40 companies and nurseries, 5 ornamental plant craft villages, 69 driftwood carving establishments, 35 miniature landscape construction establishments, 109 pottery and pot production establishments, and 149 flower-growing households… creating jobs for over 3,000 workers and contributing tens of billions of dong to the state budget. Many families in Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, and Vinh City earn 1-2 billion dong per year from ornamental plant production and service businesses.

The Provincial Ornamental Plants Association has implemented the scientific research project "Investigation and assessment of the current situation and solutions for the conservation of ancient trees and rare ornamental plants in Nghe An province," collaborated with the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to successfully organize the seminar "Nghe An Ornamental Plants: Potential and Prospects," and annually organizes spring flower and ornamental plant festivals for people to admire and purchase during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year)...
The production and business activities of agricultural and rural services in our province are becoming a high-value ecological economic sector, contributing to the transformation of the agricultural and rural economic structure.
Over the past five years, 104 outstanding units and individuals have been awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, and the Provincial Association.
In the coming term, the Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association will closely adhere to the socio-economic development goals of each locality, gradually developing ornamental plants into a high-value ecological economic sector, contributing to building cultural life in residential areas and building new rural areas; developing ornamental plants in conjunction with protecting the ecological environment, strengthening the promotion of the province's ornamental plant potential, and honoring outstanding artisans and units.
